The Drunken Moogle

Pom of Power (Hades mocktail)Ingredients:
2 oz Aplós (Non-alcoholic spirit)
1 ½ oz Pomegranate juice
1 splash Lemon juice
Pomegranate seeds
Lemon twist
Directions: Shake all ingredients in a mixer with ice and strain into rocks glass, over fresh ice....

Pom of Power (Hades mocktail)

Ingredients:

2 oz Aplós (Non-alcoholic spirit)
1 ½ oz Pomegranate juice
1 splash Lemon juice
Pomegranate seeds
Lemon twist

Directions: Shake all ingredients in a mixer with ice and strain into rocks glass, over fresh ice. Garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and a lemon twist. 

This drink is inspired by the Pom of Power powerup item in Hades, by Supergiant Games. The main ingredient is Aplós, a non-alcoholic “spirit” with strong citrus flavors, among others. The name means simple in Greek, so I chose to keep the drink just that. The unique taste of the bite of the main ingredient, sweetness of the pomegranate juice, and acidity of the lemon juice is a strong yet refreshing mix.

Beetlejuice and Lydia (Beetlejuice shooter and cocktail)

Beetlejuice
Ingredients:

2 Blackberries
1 oz. Black sambuca
1 oz. Irish cream 

Directions: Add berries to a shot glass. Pour black sambuca into shot glass. Using a barspoon, layer the Irish cream on top. 

Lydia
Ingredients:

2 oz. Lemon vodka
4 oz. Blood orange soda
1 splash Lime juice
Drizzle of grenadine

Directions: Add all ingredients over ice and stir.

Slayer’s Blood (Buffy the Vampire Slayer cocktail)

Ingredients:
1.5 oz Vodka
1.5 oz Pomegranate juice
1.5 oz Blood orange juice
1 tbsp Simple syrup
½ a Lime 

Red Candy “Blood” for Rimming Glass:
½ cup Sugar
¼ cup Corn syrup
¼ cup Water
Red food coloring

Directions: Combine sugar, water, and syrup in a sauce pan.  Cook over medium-high heat until it reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.  Stir in food coloring.  While the mixture is still hot dip in cocktail glasses. As the candy cools it will drip slightly down the glasses And harden in place.

Jack and Sally (The Nightmare Before Christmas shooters)

Jack
Ingredients:

2 oz. Pumpkin pudding
2 oz. Spiced rum
2 oz. Heavy cream
Whipped cream
Candy corn 

Directions: Combine pudding and liquid in a shot glass. Mix until well combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Top with whipped cream and a piece of candy corn.

Sally
Ingredients:

2 oz. Pumpkin pudding
2 oz. Creme de cacao
2 oz. Heavy cream
1 oz. Blue curacao
Pumpkin whipped cream
Candy corn 

Directions: Combine pudding and liquid in a shot glass. Mix until well combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Top with whipped cream and a piece of candy corn.

The Witch’s Brew (Hocus Pocus cocktail)

Ingredients: 
2 cups Vodka
2 cups Sour Apple Pucker
4 liters Lemon-lime soda
Dry ice

Directions:  Place a punch bowl inside of a larger cauldron. Add dry ice to the cauldron around the punch bowl. Fill the punch bowl with vodka, apple pucker, and soda. Pour water around.
